European Researchers’ Night at Delta Planet

Once again, on the last Friday of September, Delta Planet will host the traditional European Researchers’ Night on 26th of September. Starting at 4 PM, the event will take place across several locations in the mall, centered around the second entrance atrium, and will last until 10 PM.
This year’s theme, “Keeping Up with Science”, focuses on protecting both our health and the environment.
Science enthusiasts will be able to enjoy workshops, exhibitions, experiments, quizzes, virtual walks, talks with scientists, and lectures. The mobility of researchers and the exchange of ideas will showcase not only the diversity of science but also how different fields are interconnected.
Visitors will discover how physics has shaped modern medical diagnostics; how neural networks and artificial intelligence can serve a greener planet; how clouds “communicate” with the climate; who the “eco superheroes” are; and what a digital herbarium looks like.
A special video presentation will trace the journey of plants – both those people intentionally carried with them, such as medicinal herbs, and those that spread accidentally but now have a harmful impact, like allergenic or invasive species.
Visitors will also learn about the vital role of circulation, the heart, and blood cells in everyday life. Through STEAMpop, a unique science-and-art space, they will explore the boundaries of body and mind, connecting scientific knowledge with daily human experience.
The event will also explore questions, such as: What power do words carry today? How does every page we read shape us? How do books, through the passage of time, gain universal value? How do we navigate through unknown spaces? And how can clear communication and logical thinking turn chaos into solutions?
Science and technology will also be presented as tools for creating healthier, cleaner, and smarter cities, while mathematics will be presented as the key to solving challenges across other scientific disciplines. Visitors can also peek into a “chemical kitchen,” explore the world’s plant map, and dive into math and chemistry puzzles.
In addition, there will be opportunities to learn more about current EU programs and funds available to support scientific, artistic, entrepreneurial, and other creative ideas.
This year too, the Faculty of Science and Mathematics in Niš is one of the event’s main organizers. Scientists and researchers from various fields will join forces with a shared mission: to bring science closer to the public and make it engaging for everyone.
If any of this sparks your curiosity, we’ll be waiting for you at the city’s favorite spot!
